Kalix Löjrom PDO, or vendace roe, the eggs of the small salmonid fish species, gained the European protected designation of origin (PDO) status in 2010. In terms of land, vandace used to produce Kalix Löjrom PDO are found in the area around the municipalities of Piteå, Luleå, Kalix and Haparanda. Löjrom (Bleak Roe or Kalix Caviar) is a Swedish delicacy that is often found on menus in Sweden year round but during the end of September and beginning of October is when you can get löjrom at its freshest! It is the roe from the whitefish bleak/vendace that is harvested during their spawning season (starting middle of September and 5 weeks on) in northern Sweden along the shores of the Siri Elisabet Rose-Marie Olovsson Nilsson är 51 år och bor i en villa i Djuptjärn, Kalix.Hon bor tillsammans med bland annat Mikael Nilsson.Hon fyller 52 år den 3 mars.
