In the 100 Black Men of North Metro Chapter, we provide mentoring to youth through a series of projects servicing ages 11 through 18. Each project utilizes a life skills curriculum that promotes self-discipline and respect, educational excellence and achievement, as well as personal responsibility and career exposure.

Mentoring Brothers in Action is a partnership between Big Brothers Big Sisters and the nation’s three largest African American fraternities: Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, and Omega Psi Phi, to engage more African American men in fraternal, social, faith-based, and professional organizations to get involved in one-to-one mentoring to change the odds for African American boys. The Timothy Project: YMY, Inc. in Houston, Texas is a youth mentoring program for ages 8-11 and 12-18. It is an excellent program in that it offers youth, ages 14 and up, an opportunity to train as lead mentors and share their talents and skills with other youth (with adult supervision) in Activities That Teach.
